BUOY

To design a smart home water meter.

The amount of water use for a homeowner has always been a mystery. Even when the bill arrives from the utility company, its still very vague and unhelpful. Water is also getting more expensive, and these costs unnecessarily add up when 10% of water usage in US homes is due to leaks. Buoy's mission is to provide homeowners a means to understand, make decisions and control their water. 

By using ai learning, Buoy is able to tell you real time where your water is going inside and outside your home. In case of a leak, the Buoy app notifies you and allows for remote shut down.

Designed while at Herbst Produkt in the spring of 2016. Herbst partnered with Buoy while they were at a 12 week startup accelerator in San Francisco called Highway1.
